Strontium Dichromate, SrCr2O7.3H2O
Strontium Dichromate, SrCr2O7.3H2O, is prepared by the action of concentrated chromic acid on strontium chromate and subsequent evaporation over sulphuric acid, or by the incomplete saturation of chromic acid by calcium carbonate. It is readily soluble in water, and forms large red-brown monoclinic plates which lose water at 110° C.
