Strontium Ferrate, SrFeO4
Strontium Ferrate, SrFeO4, mixed with ferric oxide, is obtained as a red powder by precipitation of strontium bromide with potassium ferrate. It is slightly soluble in water with decomposition, but insoluble in alcohol and ether. It is decomposed by acids, with evolution of oxygen and formation of the corresponding ferric and strontium salts. The solid evolves oxygen when gently heated.
