Strontium Molybdate, SrMoO4

Strontium Molybdate, SrMoO4, analogous with the calcium salt, is obtained by precipitating strontium chloride solution with neutral sodium molybdate. It may also be prepared in the form of white tetragonal pyramids of density 4.135 at 21° C. by fusing together sodium molybdate, strontium chloride, and sodium chloride. Its crystalline form has been studied by Hiortdahl. One part of the salt is soluble in 9600 parts of water at 17° C.

An acid salt, strontium octamolybdate, 2SrO.3H2O.20MoO3.21H2O, has been described.
