Strontium Orthoarsenites

An impure tristrontium orthoarsenite, containing more strontium than corresponds to the formula Sr₃As₂O₆, has been obtained as a white floeculent precipitate by treating strontium chloride solution with potassium orthoarsenite in the cold. The distrontium orthoarsenite, SrHAsO₃.H₂O, may also be obtained by first precipitating the amorphous arsenite by the action of an alkali arsenite on a strontium salt, dissolving in acetic acid, and evaporating the solution.
