Strontium Orthoarsenites

An impure tristrontium orthoarsenite, containing more strontium than corresponds to the formula Sr3As2O6, has been obtained as a white floeculent precipitate by treating strontium chloride solution with potassium orthoarsenite in the cold. The distrontium orthoarsenite, SrHAsO3.H2O, may also be obtained by first precipitating the amorphous arsenite by the action of an alkali arsenite on a strontium salt, dissolving in acetic acid, and evaporating the solution.
